TYPES OF EXERCISES 

Endurance

Endurance exercise is defined as exercise that is aerobic. For example, running, walking, swimming, etc. This exercise can also be called cardiorespiratory fitness.

Resistance

Resistance exercise is often referred to as weight lifting or powerlifting. Although,  endurance and resistance exercises differ, they both have plenty of benefits to the human body!

Benefits from Training

  • Endurance exercise helps with reducing cardiovascular disease risks and improve cardiovascular system.

  • Resistance training improves muscle strength.

  • Both endurance and resistance training can help prevent developing osteoporosis later on in life.

  • Both endurance and resistance training can enhance your mood and give you more energy throughout the day.1

  • Endurance exercises typically target both your cardiovascular system, as well as your respiratory system since it increases both your heart rate and breathing rate.

  • Including both resistance and endurance training can be associated with lowering the risk of many obesity-related chronic diseases including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers.2
